Limited access to resources and lesson plans incorporating the Caribbean in primary through higher education prompted dLOC to create this collection. This collection includes syllabi, education modules, lesson plans, and more.

Introduction to dLOC Videos

Three short videos introducing dLOC to users are now available. These Introductions videos offer tips for navigating the sites and for finding information on the site. We believe these will be useful to both new and returning users. Introduction videos in French and Spanish are in production and will be available soon.

Caribbean Studies Bibliography Project

In the interest of supporting the Caribbean studies community, dLOC is working to compile and develop a series of crowdsourced bibliographies about various facets of Caribbean history and culture.

Our aim is to develop a resource that students, academics, and the general public will find useful and that will facilitate reading and research on the Caribbean. Ultimately, through a collective effort we hope to compile a series of lists that cover the breadth of the field – geographically, linguistically, and subject-wise.

Caribbean Studies DH Institute

In 2018-2020, dLOC is hosting an NEH funded Advanced Institute in the Digital Humanities, on Migration, Mobility, and Sustainability: Caribbean Studies Digital Humanities Institute. The Institute will support community capacity building, as well as new Open Educational Resources which will be included here.
