Sea Turtles of the Wider Caribbean Region, Leatherback Turtle

The Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network (WIDECAST) is an international scientific network founded in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) in 1981 to ensure the survival of six species of Caribbean sea turtle. The network is comprised of Country Coordinators in more than 40 Caribbean nations and territories. Each Coordinator works closely with a national coalition of governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, including scientists, natural resource managers, conservationists, policy-makers, educators and others. WIDECAST is based at the Nicholas School Marine Laboratory of Duke University in Beaufort, North Carolina.
