About KOSANBA (Congress of Santa Barbara)
The Center for Black Studies Research (CBSR) houses the Congress of Santa Barbara (KOSANBA), a scholarly association for the study of Haitian Vodou and culture. It was established at an international meeting held at University of California Santa Barbara in 1997. Under the auspices of CBSR, whose mission is to support interdisciplinary research on the social political historical, cultural, and economic experiences of African Diaspora communities, KOSANBA has published edited volumes and translated works pertaining to Haitian Vodou. KOSANBA became a dLOC partner in June 2019.
