About Ornithology

Charles Doe was the first Ornithology Curator for the Florida Museum of Natural History. This collection includes the digitized field notes, the collectors' data slips, and associated photographic images. The materials refer back to the egg collection, consisting of 10,400 sets of eggs representing 733 species. This collection is housed in the Florida Museum of Natural History and is 11th largest in North America in number of sets and 15th largest in number of species. It represents approximately 90% of the species and subspecies of North American birds.
