Dr. Gerhard Freund, UF and VA Hospital Medical Researcher has devised a method of getting alcohol into mice. Dr. Freund's mice not only drink alcohol, but have exhibited all the symptoms of alcoholism that are seen in humns. The studies suggest that alcohol impairs brain function and the impairment persists after alcohol is no longer consumed.
