G U A E LOUPE


Madame Aimee Adeline, one of the most experienced folklaorists in the
Caribbean, heads La Brisquante, the Guadeloupe Folklore Group. The artists are
primary and secondary school children.

They present a series of polkas, biguines, waltzes and other exotic
in colourful costumes and elaborate headdresses. The dances include the
the Roses, the Crater, the Lizard, the Coquette and the Calanguia.


MART IN I Q U E


The Martinique Chorale is noted for the richness of their costumes and
the vitality of their members. Their performance tells stories of the past and
the present the simple country life of Martinique and the charm of the Antilles.



SURINAM


The Surinam Hindustani Group is directed by Gurudath Kalasingh, a lead-
ing singer, playwright and drama director. Their programme tonight includes the
harvest dance (ahier) and modern music and sorfgs accompanied on the organ, sitar,
dholak and table.



G U YANA


The Police Male Voice Choir formed about 25 years ago, is conducted by
Sergeant Maurice Watson. This evening the choir will render the following
selections:-
