MICHAEL GILKES
Inspired by a Wilson Harris Story
The purpose of COTVADE was to
hand on the legacy of the tribe...
to every newborn child. All ancestors
were involved in this dream...the
dream of COUVJADE.
(Wilson Harris: Note in The
Sleepers of Roraima p. 13. Faber and
Faber, 1970).

,.,there is and must be an inherent
device of consciousness which looks
beyond the fortress of self-created
things towards a paradoxical womb
through which we are being cautioned
that a fantastic originality exists
as the omen of unity.
