The Barbados Dance Theatre
present the dances "Awakening",
"The Hag", "Yarico" and
"Islands".


It has been said of the
"Awakening" that "Imagination
changes the scale of everything
and makes a thousand patterns
of the woof of natuaM without
disturbing a silac thread".


"The Hag" is the c.apany's
interpretation of the oar .--*
version of the old vaqpire
superstition.


"Yarico" tells the story
of the English adventurer who
is saved by Yarico an Amerin-
dian princess who drowns her-
self after she is jilted by
him.


"Islands" is a dance
interpretation of poems by
Edward Brathwaite, recited by
Alfred Pragnell with original
music by Tony Hoyos and Verne
Best and recorded music by
Quincy Jones and others.
