tugboats; two tieup stations; and the replacement and
reonstrucon of the ACPs launch tlee

Expanding the Panama Canal:
Progress to date

Wih te evaluation of the technical opoA s for the design and
construction of the new ioks underway, the Panama Canal
Expansion Program remains on track, IIe ACP plans to open the
pce pa sals and award th ctract by the hird quarter of
2009 e new ocs l be capable of handing vesses up to 366
mete legh orall, 49 meters n bam and 15.2 mete of
tropical freshwater draft Three international consort representing

The ACP expects to complete expansion by 2014, which when
comped, i1 accommodate 1 ontaner v-sels of up to 126O
TEUs in size 170,00 deadweight tonrage
