My Darling Wife
You will pay to Mr. Granger or order five thousand dollars ($5000), it is money I
borrowed from Mr. Darby. When you pay him you will take my note that he has- pay
him the interest money and charge him interest. Get what money Lonie has and I will
send money to you from Bay Port by your Uncle Robert. If you have not the ($5000)
make it up in state Money. But do not Give any Bank money. I will write to you as soon
as I get to Bay Port. Let Cousin Mat pay him for you and he can cacculate [sic] the
interest. Hoping you and Ruffe[e] will soon get well.
