street became the south wall of the r*ar wing that exteadod north-
ward, This wall was located in a passatway between the Tacker
Photographic shop and the Parke Hotel. The opening was 5,50 feet

Th wall was 1.30 feet thick and its total lenght was 62.40 feet
Prma tho existing street curb there was a course of mortar covered
oequina block that extended 15o30 feet westward. This section of the
wall butted into the remains of an inside fireplace which had a total
width of 9.50 feet. From the west side of the fireplace te. wall foot-
ing was discontinuous since in many places intrusive pits occurred.

At 38.20 feet from the front of Recque 46 a wall trench ran at
a right angle to the east-west wall. (This probably was the east wall
of the wing since the trench occurred at a point that coincided in dis-
tance with Rooque's measurement). From this wall trench to its weet-
ward termination was 24.20 feet. At this point a corner was favad wtth
the west wall of the wing butting into the south wall.

Il order to find the southeast corner of the part of the balding
that was tangent to the street the sidewalk in front of the Tucker
Photographic Shop was penetrated. The corner was found and shared that
the outside dimensions of this house was 15.40 feet.

PARK HOTELt

Sections of the sidewalk in front of the Parkz Hotel ware removed and
the foundations for a coquina building were discovered. The first oouroe
of coquina above the footing was 1.80 feet thick. The shell footing
itself extended down 2.50 feet below the first course. A wan of such
dimensions was indicative of a large two story building. The front roem of
this building had north-south inside dimensions of 18.00 feet. To the
south of this room thare was an enclooed area that ma have been a loggia
7.40 feet wide. The front north-soth wall extended further south 4*60
feet. This may have been part of a astp-dun garden wall.

Roeque indidated, at the time he drew his map, that the structure
that was located in this area was a wooden building. It appears that
the Rooqe Buildins, which has its front proportions about the same as
the coquina structure was built on the foundation of the excavated
building.

SOUTHEAST CORNER ST. GERGE STREET AJTD FORT IANZS

A shell wall 17.80 feet south of the Fort Lane curb was located.
In the area excavated a tabby floor in good condition was present to
the north of the 1.hO foot wide shell wall. This tabby was penetrated
in one area.
