Placard-bearers add pepper

SATURDAY'S "Accounting to taxpayer" exercise, at Chaguanas Senior Comprehensive
School, was an exceedingly lively affair, with some placard-bearing demonstrators adding
the "pepper" to the day's proceedings. The team of government officers senior public
servants and heads of statutory bodies and companies was roundly criticised for the
alleged. poor performance of the public utilities.

Some of the highlights of Saturday's programme the second in the series announced by
Prime Minister, Dr. Eric Williams, during his last Budget Speech are recorded here. In
picture at top Mr. Fenwick de Four (second from right), Chairman of Trinidad and Tobago
Telephone Company (TELCO), is seen answering a question. Also there are Mr. Lynne
Sumadh, Deputy Chairman of TTEC; Mr. Mervyn McConnie, chairman of WASA, and Mr.
Selby Wilson, General Manager of TELCO among others.
