Mr. Earle Newton
St. Augustine Historical Restoration & Preservation Commission
St. Augustine,
Florida

Dear Earle:

I was sorry not to be able to participate in or even to
attend the Preservation Symposium in St. Augustine last month.
Betty and I had planned for some time to be in Europe then, and
have just returned after a most enjoyable trip.

While in London, I did a little research in the British
Museum and came across two very interesting water color sketches
made in St. Augustine in November 1764 one, being a view of
the Governor's House, and the other a view from the Governor's
window. These are in the maps division, numbered CXXII 86-2a,
86-2b. You are probably familiar with these, but if not, I am
sure you would want to have copies of them.

How is your restoration project progressing?

Sincerely,

Samuel Wilson, Jr.
