St. Augustine, Florida
Dear Earle:
Thank you so much for your good letter concerning
our Post Office. Please stay behind it, and let me know
if there is anything I can do from this end. Perhaps over
the telephone I was not able to get the exact information,
but the gist of my conversation with the Post Office people
here was that the property that they wanted was too high
and they had to look around and get some other property.
I surely am heartsick about Dr. King and his cohorts.
Incidentally, the statement that was made by Francisco Rodriguez
was put in the Congressional Record by me. I have made a
number of talks on the floor of the House and have tried in
every way I know how to counteract the false publicity of the
King crowd.
With warm personal regards, I am
Sincerely,
D. R. MATTH M. C.
