lear Mr. Abells
I thank you for answering my question with respect to other
federal offices in St. Augustine, through Miss Nicholson.
In accordance with your suggestion, I have contacted Mr. O. i.
Martin, Deputy URgional Directer. le sets forth a time hseedule
which if set in motion immediately. might give us a new post office
building late in 1964. However, they have not yet received the
official clearance from the Bureau of F~bilities, necessary to
start the legal process.
I believe we may be able to by-paws the problem a temporary
quarters vhich of course the Postmaster would prefer if we can
get to work immediately on the new building.
I will be in Washington with Congressuan Mathewe Tuesday morn-
iag. May we call to see if an appointment can be arrange with the
Chief of the Bureau of facilities s if this is the next step?
Wo have several sites, near the present one, available.
Cordially,
