Dear Fred:
Today I received a memorandum on the Llamblas House from Stuart
Barnette, and I am enclosing it herewith. It appears to contain 500 or
600 words and I do not know just how to cut it down to 200, so I am en-
closing the article as Is and you will have to trim it as you see fit.
You will enjoy meeting Stuart ramentte, who advises me that he will
plan to be In St. Augustine in November when the historical group comes
to St. Augustine.
The Liambias House was purchased by the Carnegie Institution of Wash-
ington for the sum of $12,500.00. Of this amount, the St. Augustine Historical
Society contributed $2500.00. Title was taken by the Carnegie Institution on
December 28, 1938, and later they executed a trust agreement with the City
of St. Augustine whereby the naked title rests in the City of St. Augustine,
with the management in charge of a Board of Trustees appointed by the Car-
negie Institution of Washington.
In February, 1945, the Carnegie Institution turned over to the St. Augus-
tine Historical Society all of its rights and privileges and a new Board of
Trustees was appointed by the St. Augustine Historical Society, which organi-
zation reserves the right to fill vacancies as they occur on the board.
The present lord of Trustees are as follows: A. J. Hanna, H. E. Wolfe,
Alfred Houston, C. Ray Vinten, and X. L. Pellicer, Chairmen.
I trust that this Information will be sufficient for your purpose.
With assurance of my kind regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
