0 'REILLY HOUSE

O'Reilly house, located on Aviles Street within the Convent Walls,
and- Juot north -f -the Do. Toledo -houe, is shown on early maps of
the city, but the exact date of construction is unknown. At the
be-inning of the nineteenth century, Don Miguel O'Reilly, native
of the town of Cressey, County Longford, Ireland, left this house
and another for the specific purpose of founding a "Religious
House under the plan of St. Francis de Sales." It served as a con-
vent before the present Convent buildings were rected.
