ST. FRANCIS INN 279 St. George Street, St. Augustine, Florida 32084
According to the files of the St. Au-ustine Historical Society Library, remodel-
ing was completed in the year 1890. Photographs "before" and "after" remodeling,
which are in these files, reveal that a third story was added and the balcony
along St. Georzg Street shortened in length.
A search of the records in the Library files for any plans, specifications or
even mention of the work performed was to no avail. There is nothing on record
at the St. Johns County Courthouse or the St. Augustine City Hall. The above-
mentioned photographs are the only evidence of the actual work performed during
the period 1888-1890.
A card from Mrs. Katherine Kingman, Descendent of Dummetts, in Historical
Lib, files describes donated photo as "Dummett House after remodelling,in
1890"
