In order to define the areas of responsibility of the Historic St. Augustine
Preservation Board and the Florida Medical Association in the creation and operation
of a cooperative educational exhibit known as the Museum of Florida Medical History,
the two organizations have entered into the following memorandum of agreement.

1. It is the desire of both organizations to cooperate in the
creation for the public of an educational exhibit portraying
the rich and significant medical history of the State of
Florida.

2. The Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board agrees to:

a. Make the second floor of the building known as the Spanish
Military Hospital on Aviles Street in St. Augustine avail-
able for the exhibits.

b. Provide necessary utilities and structural maintenance.

c. Provide planning of the exhibits.

d. Include the museum in the routine duties of its Curator
for the installation and care of the exhibits.

e. Exercise due concern for the security of the exhibit.

3. The Florida Medical Association agrees to:

a. Continue to raise funds for the expansion and completion
of the exhibits and exhibit facilities in accord with an
approved museum plan.

b. Cooperate in publicizing the Museum of Florida Medical
History.

4. Funds which are made available by or through the Florida Medical
Association for these purposes will be disbursed and accounted
for through St. Augustine Restoration, Inc.

5. Exhibits and exhibit facilities procured with funds made available
by or through the Florida Medical Association will remain the
property of the Association, and will be placed on loan to the
Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board.

6. It is mutually agreed that the building in which the Museum of
Florida Medical History is located may be placed on the block
admission ticket of the Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board
in order to partially meet the expenses of operation and maintenance.

7. It is further agreed that in the event that it becomes necessary to
cease using the Spanish Military Hospital on Aviles Street for exhibit
purposes, the Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board will attempt
to provide suitable alternate quarters for the exhibits of the Museum
