Brass scarifier.
Brass cube; face with 16 slots for blades; setting & trigger
levers on opposite face & side; screws in sides; 6 x 4.5
x 4 cm. For letting blood in the case of certain ailments;
original leather case is lost. This came down thru the
Slagal family of Redding, PA, and dates back to about the
early part of the nineteenth century.
Accession number 1397. Mrs. John Y. Detwiler.

Medicinal goblet--turned blonde quassia wood; tall,
flared body, shallow interior; short stem, broad foot;
paper label on side "Dr. G.G. ADAMS" with list of cures;
worn instruction label on bottom; 12.8 x 6.8 cm. dia.
Water drunk from goblet was evidently cure for a variety
of ailments; 19th century.

globular head; straight, tapered shaft; knob end; greenish
