Dear Mr. Milligan:
On March 6 Mr. John D. Bailey, Chairran of the Historic St. Augustine
Preservation Board, wrote you in response to your letter of February 19,
regarding the Montgomery Sisters property in St. Augustine, and Mrs.
C. D. Towers' intentions concerning its restoration. It is rmy under-
standing that since that time a satisfactory arrangement has been worked
out between Mrs. Towers and St. Augustine Restoration, Inc., for her use
of the Villalonga House during the period of restoration.
In the interim the Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board has also
indicated its acceptance of the federal grant of $41,238 to Mr. Robert-
Williams, the state Historic Preservation Officer. We are, therefore,
ready to proceed with restoration of the building as soon as it is deeded
to us. However, we cannot take the first steps of arranging for archi-
tectural services until the technicalities of title transfer are accom-
plished, inasmuch as the value of the land constitutes the matching por-
tion for the federal grant, and no ironies can be expended until these
details have been worked out.

I trust that we may hear from you soon regarding the points raised in
Mr. Bailey's letter of March 6, so that the project can get under way.
