Dear tillt
I have re-checked both the documentation and cartography on tlock 15 Let 7 and
#an find o erlar t our prevloues work. Following is a brief narrative concerning
the site.
BLOCK 15 LOT 7
This lot had two bnameary boe" on it during the first Spanish Period, ee
of coquina and @ne of tabby. By 1777 at least one of theOe disappears as
evidenced by the Fish account books where the owner is credited with the
sale of stone "from his house. "
By 1788 (Roque map) all structures on this and adjoining lot have disap-
peared. Somie time between 1788 and 1790, Juan esdA built a wooden
house on tI lot although the lot was owned by theo l, 4auidsa acquired
t0e in January of 1807. During the same month he *ell, the property to
Juan Goasales Montes de Oca to satisfy creditors, particularly the man who
rebuilt the house out of coqulna, since the wooden one wa*. rotten.
Both the 1790 Queaoda tist and the 1803 List of Appraieals simply mention
a houte of J:aa Yaaeda but do not give specifce such as type of material.
It is quite apparent theoreoe* that the house now occupying the lot was
built prior to January 1807 and after 1790, probably some time tn 1806.
I hope the above will be of some value to you.
Cordially,
Robert N. Steinbach
