Tuition Deferment for VA Benefit Recipients
VA tuition deferments expire on March 19, 2010 at 3:30pm. STUDENTS WILL BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY
REMAINING TUITION OWED AFTER THAT TIME, PLUS THE LATE PAYMENT FEE OF $100. Please log into your
myUFI account, and then click the Student Center link under My Campus Finances to check your balance. If the VA
has not paid your tuition by March 15th, please contact the campus VA office for assistance.

VA Education Benefits for Summer 2010 through Spring 2011
The enrollment certification form for the Summer '10 through Spring '11 terms will be available on UF's VA
website (http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/va/) beginning March 22, 2010. Students using the Post 9/11 GI Bill need to
complete their own unique form because they can only request benefits for one semester at a time. All other
students can complete the general form which allows you to request certification through
Spring 2011. As soon as you know your schedule, make sure to complete the certification form in order to
expedite payment of your VA benefits.

ACTIONS! to Honor Disabled Veterans
Join ACTIONS! during the Raise Your Voice Month 2010 Disabled Veterans Week, in honoring the men and women
who have given their lives for their country. ACTIONS! will be having a veteran speak about life on the battlefield
and then holding a candlelight vigil in remembrance of fallen soldiers from Florida and around the country. Come
out and show your support on March 3 from 7-8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial located at the Reitz Union

Discontinuation of Emergency Advance Payments
Effective immediately, VA Regional Offices stopped issuing education advance payments unless the veteran has
extenuating circumstances. Only students who have still not been paid for fall 2009 may be issued an advance due
to extenuating circumstances.

Recovery of Emergency Advance Payments
All advance pay recipients should have received a second letter from VA's Debt Management Center notifying
them that the VA would soon start reclaiming the emergency funds they were issued for fall 2009. The letter
explains the repayment options open to the veteran. For a list of Questions and Answers regarding repayment of

VA Call Center Now Open Five Days A Week
Veterans with questions about any VA education benefit will again be able to get help by phone Monday through
Friday. The number to call is 1-800-GIBILL-1 (442455-1).

Temporary Suspension of Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)
The MyCAA program is temporarily suspending program operations effective Tuesday February 16th, 2010. Please
read through this letter as this temporary suspension affects schools and spouses differently. The following is the
Office of the Secretary of Defense's Official Announcement:

"Effective immediately the MyCAA program is temporarily halting operations. We are reviewing all the procedures,
financial assistance documents and the overall program. This pause will not affect approved Financial Assistance
documents. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Please check back for updates."

Are You Receiving SELRES/REAP (Ch. 1606/Ch. 1607) Education Benefits And Have
Been Mobilized?
Have you been mobilized, for duty other than basic training, for a period of at least 90 days? If so, you may qualify
for increased benefits. Please refer to this link for further details http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI Bill Info/rates.htm.
This also may apply to added benefits under Post 9/11 (Ch. 33) benefits. Visit our office, or call us, if you have any
questions and/or to update your status.
