I heard from Hazel Dunlap that you were in the hospital. I
that everything is all right now. I called your office and
message with Rita O'Brien when the first sample of concrete
for the large paved area in the Hispanic Garden came.

The second sample of paving seems to have the crater-type texture we
wanted. Does this meet the strength requirements? One Portland
Cement Association publication suggests a 1:2-3/A:2-3/4 mix with a
maximum aggregate size of 3/4" using 61 bags of cement per cubic
yard. I am certain that this has been worked out already, however.

The colors of the samples you sent seem to match the tone of the color
samples we wanted. I am enclosing a few more samples in order that
darker tones approaching earth color can be included in the paving
area, so that a mottled effect is obtained to appear as it might if
weathering had occurred. I appreciate your time spent on working out
colors with us by mail.
