Post Office Box 1987
St. Augustine, Florida 32084
Dear Dr. Adams:
This is to confirm that the Heritage Conservation and
Recreation Service has approved a matching grant of $87,630 for
the St. Augustine Historic District: DeMesa-Sanchez House
Rehabilitation, Phase II project. The Federal matching funds
are available from funds appropriated for the purposes of the
National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended. Donated
real property value of $81,660 resulting from acquisition at
less than appraised value, and cash match of $5,970, are accepted
as local matching share.
As you know, the Federal and State guidelines for adminis-
tration of the historic preservation grants program are currently
under revision. We will provide copies as they become available.
In the meantime, the enclosed copy of draft guidelines relating
to general conditions governing grants provide a basic outline of
the limitations and requirements.
We are preparing a formal grant award agreement, which
will be forwarded as soon as it is completed.
Sincerely,
William N. Turston
