Dear Mr. Steinback,
It is with regret that we announce the postponement of the
January 3rd banquet for the Greek Orthodox Memorial Shrine in St. Augustine,
Florida. We have been informed that the inauguration in Tallahassee for the
newly elected Senate Officials of Florida has been scheduled for the following
day, Monday, January 4th. This will preclude the attendance at the banquet
of numerous state officials who are desirous of being with us on this historic
occasion.
In view of this fact, we have temporarily postponed the ban-
quet. As soon as a new date has been set invitations will again be extended, and
we are extremely hopeful that we may have the pleasure of your presence at that
time.
His Eminence Archbishop lakovos has asked that his prayerful
best wishes be extended to you and yours for every joy of this holy season, and
he is looking forward to personally greeting you in the near future.
Thanking you for your indulgence, and hoping that this
inadvertent postponement will not inconvenience your holiday schedule, we
remain,
Yours sincerely,
Ernest A. Villas, Director
Department of Laity
