Specifications for Florencia Outbuilding.
4-7-87
This post and beam structure is meant to represent a small
outbuilding which would have been used as a storage shed. The
dimensions given are English equivalents of Spanish varas and
pulgatas. The exterior is covered with horizontal board on board
siding which is resawn with a chain saw to reproduce the tool
marks associated with pit sawing. The mill work is typical of the
Hispanic tradition. The door and shutters are constructed with a
substantial frame faced with vertical boards. Hardware is hand
wrought and is based on surviving examples or comparative
material from other similar areas.
