UF Community Campaign

The UF Community Campaign is the only
official charitable giving drive open to
University of Florida employees. All money
raised through the UFCC supports the
work of local agencies that provide a wide
variety of services to our community.

Contributing to the UFCC is voluntary.
Those employees who do wish to
contribute can do so by cash, check, direct
bill or payroll deduction. Payroll deduction
provides a simple, easy, and convenient
way to support the UFCC agencies.

All money raised through the UFCC supports
the work of local agencies that provide a wide
variety of services such as ensuring children start
school ready to learn, child care, recreational
opportunities, counseling, legal help, environmental
protection, disease prevention, medical assistance,
and more. In addition, some of these agencies
partner with UF by funding research projects
focused on curing disease or improving the quality
of life. Many of these agencies count on charitable
donations in order to fulfill their missions and
develop new programs to meet the needs of our
growing population.

Giving to the UFCC has never been easier! That's
right...giving is a click away! This year UF employees
can give online at http://www.ufcc.ufl.edu.You may
contribute by payroll deduction, check/cash or
direct bill.... but it is all done online.

The campaign steering committee and the
university leadership have been engaged in planning
this year's campaign.There will be a variety of
activities around the university and many of the
area coordinators are planning fun activities to
engage your participation in the campaign.

Last year University of Florida employees
contributed more than $1 million to support
the 80 agencies eligible for the campaign.These
agencies provide a wide variety of services to the
greater Gainesville community such as medical
assistance, legal help, environmental protection,
counseling, recreational opportunities and ensuring
that children start school ready to learn. Many
of these organizations count on your generous
donations each year to fulfill their missions and
meet the needs of their target populations.

This year's campaign goal is $1.3 million.We can
meet this goal if we will all work together.Won't
you help make our community an even better

University of Florida President
J. Bernard Machen

Every year, University of Florida employees dem-
onstrate their commitment to our community
by participating in the UF Community Campaign
(UFCC). The campaign has raised more than
$1 I million for charitable organizations since its
beginning in 1993.

Seventy-four local agencies will benefit from the
funds raised through the 2008 UFCC. These
agencies make an impact on many local needs
- affecting the lives of children, the disabled, and
those with serious illnesses. The UFCC agencies
protect the environment, shelter animals, and
assist the elderly. Donors to our campaign can
give to all agencies with one contribution to the
campaign or can designate specific agencies for
donations.

This year's campaign theme is "Gators Give
Online." In keeping with our goal of sustainability,
we are moving to an online campaign that will
greatly reduce printing, paper, and mailing costs.
In addition, the online program will give us up-to-
date results on our donation totals.

Please join me in a commitment to helping the
agencies that help our community. Our goal for
the 2008 campaign is $1.3 million. Together we
can meet the goal and fulfill our commitment to
a better life for all in our region.
