ORLANDO ROTARY CLUB
OCTOBER 3, 1960

Where Do Ibo Think You're Going

Did yoo ever try to sneak out of House?
The voice stilled, but the Q remains
Our Pres. says "You are Rotary..."
Where are you Rotary going?
9 out of 10 people -- going with the crowd
The crowd doesn't know where it's going
If anywhere
Public opinion poll -- tells where crowd is
but not where it's going
A crowd has no purpose, no mind.
Polls don't mean much
Too many passive Opinions
January poll -- insignificant
Inside every majority, a minority
The leaders -- the thinkers
we live in a democracy, and talk of majority rule
But minority most important
Einstein 2S
Historians -- no interest in popular opinion
It is active opinion that counts
Communism Russia China -- the minority
Democracy -- many eligible don't register
50-60% of registered vote
26.31% voters rule -- maybe 15%
Florida less than 2 M. reg., 1.1 M will vote, 560 T will rule

Vote on reapportionment amend -- 105 or registered voters, 65 ruled

2..
Einstein was generous
History of world story of 2i -- not the crowds

Jesus could have had a crowd
Pitable dozen -- but active minority -- out from, not into crowd

American revolution
Test yourself Just another pair of pants?
You are Rotary -- where do you think you're going?
