REMARKS TO VFW
ST. PETERSBURO, FLORIDA
JANUARY 18, 1964
We are honored to have you in Florida
So we can recognize your contribution
There may be no more foreign wars
Strike Command across the bay -- world wide responsibilities
Cuba across the gulf -- universe wide responsibilities
So as far as Florida is concerned, there may be no more foreign.....
Appalled at this circumstance but do not shirk
Danger is a price of leadership
Whether on football field -- the great threats
whether in a political battle
whether in a sales contest -- between autos -- targets
So this country is a target
Because it is a leader
We should not be surprised at Panama
or Brasil (Time book)
or Cuba
If we must suffer the danger of leadership, let us deserve it
This country has provided the inspiration for progress in the last century
Not Russia -- with its regression into dark ages
Not Communism -- with its fake cry of revolution
