This an historic occasion
A magnificent engineering teat

A testimony or good faith -- through every administration
An unexcelled example of good federal-state-local cooperation
It is impossible to conceive

of the decisions made -- by engineers and contractors

of the compromises reached -- with property owners and local interes1
of the hOurs labored

of the lives saved
For a grateful peeple may I think yOu who labored
for your honesty
for your ability
for yOur dedication
for making democracy work
For 20 years you have labored
In every administration you have pressed ahead

It remained for this administration to win the final victories --
to crack the hardest nuts

All Florida helped -- "off-the-top"

To Hanoahan -- and Brewer -- go great credit
This last project in Martin Gaunty
But 38 of last 54 miles in Brevard

So for all those -- known and unknown

We have run the race

We have kept the faith
We have finished thecourse
