TO ALL SOUTHERN GOVERNORS:
We are pleased to enclose the Preliminary Program for the Twenty-
sixth Annual Meeting of the Southern Governors' Conference at Hot Springs.
Arkansas, September 25-28. Last week we visited with Governor and Mrs.
Pauhus, our hosts, and their aides, and they are hard at work on arrange-
ments to make this a most delighttul meeting.

is hopeful that the designated participation by the various members of
the Conference will meet with your appr0val. You will note that the
business sessions have been scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
mornings. leaving the afternoons free for informal meetings and special
events planned by the East State. The final session of the Conference
will wind up about noon on Wednesday, September 28.
Also enclosed is a list of the several Committees of the Southern
Governors' Conference.
Another attachment to this letter is a reservation form for the
forthcoming Annual Meeting, which we hope you will complete and return
to us at yoar earliest convenience, giving the names of persons accom-
panying you to the Conference and information as to your travel plans.
As you know, the Southern Regional Education Board this year will
be holding its Annual Meeting just prior to the opening of the Southern
Governors' Conference. For this reason it will be important for you to
arrive at Hot Springs early enough to participate in the SREB meeting.

your plans (or attending the Annual Meeting, and with warm regards.
