Dear Mr. Brunton:

Congressman Bennett of Florida and others have written
me to tell of the efforts they are exerting to encourage
the designation of an area in the vicinity of St. Augustine
for the 196 Boy Scout Jamboree.

It is my pleasure to add my voice to those as making

this suggestion for I feel that the great heritage represented
in the history or this area would be significant to the Scents
of the nation and that this would be a particularly auspicious
occasion since it coincides with the hOOth anniversary or the
founding of Port Caroline.

If it is possible for you to consider Florida for the
location or this Jamboree, I am hopeful that you will communicate
with me to let me know what would be appropriate areas for
assistance and in what ways we can be of help in bringing this
important event to Florida.

with best personal regards, I an

sincerely,

governor
