to have its 1964 Boy Scout Jamboree in Florida at Camp Blending
was presented to our National Executive Board at its December meet-
ing. A very fine brochure had been provided by Mr. James H. Sayes.
Manager of the Recreation Department of the Florida Development
Commissioa.

Due to the fact that military facilities would necessarily be
taken over by the government in case of the threat of war, it was

felt that this factor alone would make it inadvisable for the National
Council to select such a spot.

I am told that if people in Florida present a suitable alternate
for another Jamboree it would be given tavorable consideration.
