RECEIVED

M18196!

Dear Governor Bryant:

As National Honorary Chairman of the U80, 1 am requesting
the Governors of the states to serve as Honorary Chairmen

in their respective areas.

I know that the morale and welfare of the men and women in

our Armed Forces is close to your heart. Through your
cooperation. added impetus will be given to the USO's com-
prehensive program. It reects America's concern for the
welfare of our service personnel wherever they might be. at
home or in the many foreign lands where needed on behalf of
the security of freedom in this world.

As you may know, USO. a federation of six civilian agencies

representative of the three major faiths of the nation. is sup-
ported principally through contributions to Community Chests

and United Funds. For this reason, your utmost cooperation
in these drives will be most effective and welcome at this

time.

Since rely.

K/

Honorable Farris Bryant

Governor of Florida
