For several years the major participating Federal agency
was the Interstate Commerce Commission, but in 1936 tne
Association's COnstitution was amended to bring the Federal
Power Commission, the Federal Communications Commission and
the Federal securities and Excnange Commission into its
membership. Finally in 1956, tne COnstitution was again
amended to bring the Civil Aeronautics Board into our member-
snip. Of course, the new United States Department of Trans-
portation has further expanded the sederal participation in
NARUC.

NARUC members would consider it most appropriate and informative

your efforts to bring abou. close liaison and greater under-
standing between the states and our Federal Government.
