Dear Torn.

Somebody showed me the UPI article in the St. Peterehurg
Timer for Sunday, March 5. in which you seem to be

building your reputation as fer ee you cen by an ettnck on
me. i am surprieed end regretfnl thet you should do no.

end i honeetly think in the long run it ie not a good founda-
tion for e repoution.



in any event. it would probably helbetter to get the fecte
straight: The first revenue ieeue of which I uncured the
ieeuence wee not for $15 million. hot {or $25 million. it
wee eucceeeful. and did get the State etnrted on the expan-
eion of in college facilitiee in epite of your opposition.

i think it only (Mr to point out thet we next laid the pound-
work not for a $75 million bond ieene. but for n $300
million bond ieeue. by the dedication of texee which 1 pro-
posed to the Legislature to be replaced by other tnxee.

The $75 million to which you referred wee only a limit on
hienninl ieeunnce. and i really don't think it honeet for you
to cleim credit. or neceeeery for you to take blame. for
thet ieene.

There in n greet deal of conetructive work which mode to
be done in Florida in which you ere in e poeition to eeeiet.
Mey l enggeet that you concentrate on conetructive work

rather then deetrnctivn criticism of thoee with whom you
