MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT

Subject: Press reports re my tenure as Director

Recent news reports. of which one is attached, re-
late to my alleged plans to return to Florida. My
statements to the Florida press ever since i have
been here have been to the effect that i expected to
review my situation in August to determine my future

course.
There are several factors controlling my tenure:

1. Your wishes;

2. Personal considerations
a. Financial
b. Political

c. Domestic.

The most pressing personal consideration is nancial.
inasmuch as the market value of my only signicant
asset, stock in a life insurance company I founded in
1965. has dropped substantially since I left Florida.
and my other capital resources are diminishing.

You may be sure I will consult you before making any
firm plans.

Respectfully yours.

Farris Bryant
Director
