Dear Farris:
Central Florida needs your help again. The Central
Florida Development Committee, of which I am currently
president. in keeping with our usual practice. is seeking
a speaker for the annual dinner meeting in February, 1967.
We would like a speaker who is keyed to the current projects
of the committee.
Because the committee has undertaken a program of
coordinated state wide water control. conservation and
pollution elimination. the acquisition of parks and recrea
tional space. (particularly the Seashore National Park) and
construction of a scenic parkway from Daytona Beach to the
lake area of Osceola County. we would like to secure the
services of Secretary Udall. Secretary of the Department
of Interior. as our speaker.
At all previous annual dinners we have been successful
in securing the services of outstanding men befitting our
current undertaking. Mr. winthrop Rockerfeller's address
aroused interest in our very effective industry development
program and Governor Sanders address was most helpful to
find solutions to urban sprawl.

To refresh your memory about the Central Florida
Development Committee. 1 would like to recall that the
committee strongly supported you in the extension of the
Sunshine State Parkway when Bill McCree was president.
The committee also backed and worked to assure the success
of your University Building Amendment. and your National
Resources Amendment.
The committee is composed of 150 leading business and
professional men in Central Florida dedicated to growth and
orderly development of the area. Although the membership
is limited. the annual dinner receives state wide press and
television coverage. We would. of course. expect to take care
of Mr. Udall's expenses.
Your assistance in obtaining Seeretary Udall to be the
speaker at our annual meeting would be most helpful.
