Dear Mr. Jarrard:
l was delighted to hear that Governor Bryant will honor the Air
Proving Ground Center with a visit on February 7th. Attached is
a proposed agenda for hie approval which starts at the Tallahassee
Airport at 8:00 a.m. EST and terminates at 3:30 p.m. EST back
in Tallahassee. An Eglin Convair will transport the Governor and
his party.
The agenda includes a supersonic ight by Governor Bryant.
probably in a F404 "Star Fighter". our fastest aircraft.
In this rather fast-moving visit, I hope to show him or tell him about
as many of our 140 tests or development projects as possible. We
will also include some short briefings on local activities which
directly involve the State Government. Attached for your general
information is a map of our 722 square mile reservation and one of
our Eglin Gulf Test Range. which runs all the way to Key West. The
Governor might be interested to know that this is the largest USAF
reservation in the world and that we own and operate real estate and
technical facilities all down the west coast of Florida.
I regret that the Governor's abbreviated schedule won't permit a
visit to the various auxiliary fields or to the missile launch sites
and associated instrumentation along Santa Rosa beach; however.
we will show pictures of some of these.
