Dear Farris:

I have your letter of June 22 and have carefully noted
your suggestions about Forest H111 Institution. I am in
hearty accord with the suggestions, and expect to recommend
them to the Budget Commission. Sufficient funds will have to
be released to pay a watchman and for upkeep of the grounds
and buildings, but this will not amount to a great deal. I
doubt that the Commission will want to purchase any of the
furniture and equipment until the second year of the biennium,
but it should be done before the next session of the Legisla-
ture. we are in process of trying to acquire from Federal
Surplus PrOperty any equipment that can be used at this in-
stitution. Den D'Alemberte is in route to look at some of
this equipment today.

Thank you very Inch for writing me as you did. I am
always glad to have your advice and suggestions.
