DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
TALLAHASSEE

February 18, 1953

Honorable C. Farris Bryant,
Representative,

Marion Caunty,

Ocala, Florida.

Dear Ir. Bryant:

This will acknowledge your letter of
February 11 in regard to truckers stopping at
the Ieight Stations for the purpose of having
the weights of their vehicles checked.

Our Weight Stations do and sill, on request,
give truck drivers this iniorsation unless there is
a long line of trucks backed up to where they extend
out on the highway and create a traffic hazard, in
which case it is necessary to love these trucks over

the scales as fast as possible. Drivers should
request this internation prior to going on the plat-
tors because the scales are set for the laxisus load
lisit and unless they tip beyond this no record is
kept unless the truck driver so requests.

Trusting this gives you the desired interna-
tion. I as

81 erel yours,

lelh
