ihe university or Florida has completed a thorough
study or the need for and possibility of constructing an
educational television station at Gainesville in accordance
with applicable Federal procedure. It is felt, however. that
before any final decisions are made. it would be helpful to
obtain the advice and counsel of outstanding citizens such

as yourself. already-versed and informed on the problems facing
the inauguration of a television station.

?he Board of Control would appreciate you acting as a
member of a committee to assist it in reaching an intelligent
conclusion. On the assumption that you will serve, I an eating
Dr. John 8. Allen. Vice President of the University or Florida

to contact you and the other members or the committee for the
purpose of arranging an early conference.
