WITH SMILAR EXPENDITURES IN THE
lDAHO-OREGON-WASHINGTON REGION

1. Planned Federal costs; that is, the total estimated Federal
cost of completion of all projects either completed or even partially
authorized:

. Florida: $406 million or $147. per person in state 1950.

I-O-W: $2,232 million or $500. per person in area 1950.
Ratio of totals. Florida 1 to l-O-W 5.5.
Ratio of per capitas: Florida I to l-O-W 3.4.

2. Federal cost of all construction to 30 June 1949, including
earliest projects:

a. Florida: $99 million in 124 years, or $36 per head. 0r
$0.29 per man per year.

b. I-OW: $637 million in 83 years or $143 per head. or
$1.72 per man per year.

c. Ratio of totals: Florida 1 to l-O-W 6.4.
