Mr Farris Bryant

Farris Bryant State Headquarters
Post Offico Box 1773

Ocala, Florida

Dear Farris:

Wendell Jarrard has asked that I give you my analysis of the f
program. 'Tmportant." on Channel 10 last night. It follows herewith:

1. Bryant may have. possibly. come out slightly in front.
However. Carlton received more than two votes to one over us in this
County and we cant afford to just break even. With your knowledge and
qualifications we should be far in front every time the two of you are
together.

2. Carlton had apparently been well prepared in advance by f n
professionals and seemed to dominate the program on his own terms Ix '

3. Bryant was on the defensive most of the time and both
Bryant's and Carlton's explanations on segregation and interposition
were over the heads of most people .

4. Both Bryant and Carlton were very discourteons to each v y
other and constantly interrupting each other. "u

5. Carlton possibly left the impression with many listeners /,' .- ~
that he was sincere and truthful.

6. Bryant's appearance was far better of the two and he possibly
gave the impression that he had a better knowledge of what the two were
talking about. Some people however. would possibly think that Bryant
was hypocritical and not telling whole truths .
