Honorable Farris Bryant
P.O. Box 1773
Ocala, Florida

Dear Mr. Bryant:

It was a pleasure to receive a personal letter
from you and I am aware and have been aware of your
deVotion to the Democratic Party and I am sure that
the contributions you have made are still clear in
the minds of the Voters in the State of Florida.

In the last Rational Campaign when A. Stevenson

was so throuehly defeated. we reached a period here

in Leon County when we were without a leader for the
reason that Mr. Collins did not make any statement
whatsOever and we a1m0at appointed you the leader,
we were lacking at the time. But later they corrected
an unpleasant situation and we withdrew and did the best
we could. But at that time, and I mean we had a great
number or peeple at this meeting in headquarters, which
included some or the cabinet members, so you can see that
at Ehia time we almost ask you to take oVer without port-
r01 0.

Now it appears that you are going to take oVer and
you will be someone we can depend on.

Let me assure you in every manner and in every way
that I can that I will contribute to your outstanding
campaign. From here it looks as it you will be the next
governor.

Mrs. Pierce and my daughter Charlina, both, Join me
in wishing yOu a complete victory in the first primary.

Sincerely,

X on 0 rec
