ORLANDO -- The Orlando Sentinel says it "sincerely believes

Demo. nominee Farris Bryant and the entire state Democratic
ticket should be elected for the common welfare and continuing

progress of the great state or Florida."

In the editorial, the Sentinel endorsed by name, Bryant
and hie seven Democratic colleagues who are running a unified
campaign for the general election, including Secretary of State
Nominee Tom Adams, Attorney General Dick Ervin, Comptroller Roy
Green, State Treasurer Ed Larson, School Superintendent Tom
Bailey, Commissioner of Agriculture Nominee Doyle Conner and
Wailroad Commissioner Ed Mason.

""e are endorsing our Florida Democratic friends," con-
tinued the Sentinel, "because we believe they understand Floriua
problems more accurately and more deeply and thoroughly than do
the Republican aspirants....

"Farris Bryant & Co. have lived closer to us for many
more years; closer to our problems. You can talk about Hwy. 50
or Buy. 27, or Hwy. hhl to Farris Bryant, and he knows exactly
what you are talking about. He doubt that this is true with hr.

Peterson.

"But, as a potential governor, there is no comparison be-

tween Mr. Peterson and Mr. Bryant. One knows the state's

problems, the other is being an idealistic hero for his party."
