Dear Mr. Bryant:
On behalf of the Governors' Conference, please allow me to extend
our heartiest congratulations upon your election as Governor. we recall
with great pleasure our association with you at the Southern Governors
Conference in Hot Springs last September, and we look forward to working
with you throughout your term of office.
You may want to lake a note on your calendar that the Fifty-third
Annual Meeting of the national Governors' Conference will be held in
Honolulu, Hawaii, during the latter part of June. 1961. Exact dates
for the 1961 Conference have not as yet been specified by Governor Quinn.
who will be our host, but you will be hearing from us as soon as the
time and hotel location are determined.
As you know, the Council of State Governments, of which I an
Executive Director, serves the Governors' Conference in a staff capacity
as it does numerous other associations of state officials. Enclosed is
a capy of the booklet describing the Council's operations. We have
considerable research and publications services available to all the
Governors, and shortly after you take office I shall be writing you
further in detail about these services.
