Dear Mary:

One of the nicest things about the Convention

was the opportunity to be with you. i appreciated so
much the conrtesies you extended and the confidence

you expressed.

During the next two weeka i will be reviewing the
situation here in Florida preparatory to deciding just
what to do and how to do it, and I hope you will let
me have the benefit at your views. Senator Kennedy's
staii has indicated that they want me to come to
Washington in about two weeks (or a conierence with

him. which is still tentative. so it I can hear from you
at your early convenience it will be a great help to me.

I am going to be covering the State continuously,
and look forward to seeing you soon.
