August 15, 1960.

Honorable Ferris Bryant,
P. 0. Box 563,
Ocala, Florida.

Dear Hr. Bryant:

Regardingyour prOposcd meeting with Senators
Kennedy and Johnson with respect to your support of the
Democratic ticket, I thought you night be interested in the
enclosed copy of The Augusta Courier. The editorial from
The Richmond Times-Leader was evidently written by Mr. Kilpatrick,
who is the author of "The Sovereign States." This is one of
the best books by a layman about Supreme Court decisions that
l have ever read. If your_husy schedule will permit I heartily
recommend it to you.

I hope that you realm! the song entitled "The
Preacher and The near" and if you do and you find it impossible
to help those who are in favor of independent electors "for
goodness sake don't help that bear!"

Very truly yours
